Osteopathic Craniosacral Concept.
Craniosacral Asynchronism
and Whiplash Injury.
Diagnosis and Treatment
of Mentioned Dysfunctions.
21–23 September, 2012, Saint Petersburg
Serge Silbermann, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, is one of the first osteopaths in France. Holds a Diploma of Kinesiotherapy (1962) and Diploma of Osteopathy (1974). Founder and co-founder of the first osteophatic schools in France (A.T.M.A.N., EUROSTEO and I.S.O.). International lecturer (France, Switzerland, Norway, Italy, Spain, etc.). Author of “Craniosacral Architecture” book.
Seminar Objective
Two basic conditions are necessary in order to perform craniosacral manipulation effectively:
- perfect knowledge of cranoisacral anathomy, biomechanics, as well as those pathologies which can be caused by dysfunction of that mechanics;
- practical working experience is a must.
No matter how perfect your knowledge of theory is, that is not enough! Nothing can replace practice and experience. Practical work with well-trained hands and visualizing of structures in motion allows you to get the results that sometimes can be unexpected.
Seminar Topic
We are working on several levels of understanding:
- Biomechanics of craniosacral area: sphenobasilar synchondrosis, sacrum and motions of all osseous structures.
- Motions of reciprocal tension membranes.
- Fluid motions.
- Energy osteopathy.
- Psycho-emotional osteopathy.
- Spiritual osteopathy.
Undoubtedly, this list could be continued.
Все эти аспекты естественным образом связаны друг с другом и зависят друг от друга. Доктора Сатерленд и All these aspects are naturally connected and depend on each other. Doctors Sutherland and Magoun told us EVERYTHING about craniosacral concept. They described all motions of cranium and sacrum, as well as cranial bones motion axis, but all this is not enough. Our task is to read between the lines to decipher all the postulates drawn from their brilliant intuition and then applied in practice. According to Sutherland and Magoun, osteopathic concept, i.e., its theoretical model needs a lot of CLARIFICATIONS and explanations.
All osteopaths refer to our Masters. However, it is obvious that different schools have made different interpretations and even deformations of their original idea, and now nobody can tell who is right. So, we must get back to the basics!
Seminar Program
Day 1
Revision of dynamic physiology of sphenobasilar synchondrosis, cranial bones and sacrum in normality and in dysfunction. Correction techniques, theory and practice.
Day 2
Reciprocal tension membranes (cranium and core-link, their physiology and dysfunctions). Correction techniques, theory and practice.
Day 3
Whiplash injury as a perfect example of the craniosacral asynchronism. Correction techniques, theory and practice.
Thus, from the concept proposed by our Masters, we could draw a simple and orderly practical work that would improve the daily practice of each participant of the seminar.
