Seminar of Gerard Montet

MENTAL VERTEBRAE

25-27 January, 2013, Saint Petersburg

Gerard Montet is one of the oldest osteopaths in France, international lecturer, the founder of А.Т.М.А.N. College (France)(1980), ex-president of the Academy of Cranial Osteopathy (France), a clinical psychologist, certified teologian, expert in physical anthropology and ethymology. Certified in clinical psychology and psychoanalysis, author of the thesis “Perceptions of injuries in Greek Mythology”.

Seminar Objective

Everybody knows autonomic sympathetic and parasympathetic systems and their impact on viscerotome, myotome and dermatome. These divisions of nervous system have much deeper connections throughout the body than is commonly believed.

The author uses the term "Mental Vertebrae" to show that motor and sensory nervous systems, being reinforced by the autonomic sympathetic and parasympathetic systems, are also actually connected to one or more models in psycho-somatization and human behavior.

For example, some psychological conflict may be “anchoring” in L2 zone. An effort required to move up to the 2nd floor without elevator, can be aggravated by soreness and anger, reflected in the form of "transfer" on the joints and muscles involved in these movements. Consequently, it is followed by hyposthenia, and it will be difficult for a person to take action. He will gasp for air and resist moving up. On the contrary, if he needs to climb 2 floors to meet his love, he will try his wings and the action will be taken without any effort.

This is the first stage. Actually, there are plenty of them. In case when the mental state is the reason of dysfunction, somatic osteopathy is not enough to restore the balance of the body. That’s because the mental state dominates and suppresses positive results of standard osteopathic treatment.

At the seminar Gerard Montet will explain what can accompany each dysfunction of our vertebral column. It allows you to avoid treatment failures arising from psycho-emotional disorder.

Seminar Topic

At the seminar Gerard Montet will examine each vertebra in its special anatomic relationships. With the knowledge of mental vertebrae, you will discover in different regions of vertebral column the key vertebra with somatic and mental disorders which is reflected in different types of behavior.

Seminar Program

Day 1

Vertebra mentality, somatization is everywhere – law of ease – law of restriction in each vertebra of vertebral column.

“Extremities Vertebrae”, “Cranial Vertebrae” – program concept: thought, context, training, fears, characters, bravery (courage), temperaments, visceral somatizations.

Uniqueness – each person is unique and differs from others by his reactions, individual physical and physiological capabilities.
