The First Graduates in Osteopathy in the Southern Capital of Kazakhstan

These awards, together with the presentation of professional development certificates in osteopathic medicine to the first six graduates of the Institute of Osteopathic Medicine in the Republic of Kazakhstan took place on 27 January in the city of Almaty. Certificates of second university degree in postgraduate medicine are the result of three and a half years of work, when students of intra-extramural form of study gained a new knowledge about osteopathy. Commencement exercises marked a new stage of osteopathy development in the former Soviet Union.

Established in 2009, today the Institute of Osteopathic Medicine in the Republic of Kazakhstan performs training in accordance with international educational program for osteopathic medicine. The program corresponds to that of the Institute of Osteopathy of SPbSU & NWMSU named after I. I. Mechnikov, provided licensed osteopathic education in Russia.

Students of the Institute of Osteopathic Medicine participated in seminars performed by the teachers of the Institute of Osteopathy of SPbSU & NWSMU named after I. I. Mechnikov - Dmitry Mokhov, Tatiana Petrova, Svyatoslav Novoseltsev, and experienced to gain a new knowledge firsthand from the world leading osteopaths - Gerard Montet, Jean-Pierre Amigues. An examination board, evaluating the level of knowledge of the first graduates of the Institute, includes Nadezhda Krasnoyarova, M.D., Professor, Academician of the American Biographical Institute, Director of the Institute of Osteopathic Medicine in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Dmitry Mokhov, M.D., Director of the Institute of Osteopathy of SPbSU & NWMSU named after I. I. Mechnikov.

The first graduates in osteopathy in the Republic of Kazakhstan are the great evidence that osteopathy as a promising trend in modern medicine continues to develop successfully. The international cooperation contributes to strengthening the position of osteopathy on the world medical stage.
