We wish our students, colleagues and partners a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! By tradition, we write about our main achievements in the outgoing year.

There were many important and pleasant events in 2017! We first began to teach osteopathic doctors in residency. In summer 6 doctors successfully passed their exams and became the first residents of the Department of Osteopathy of the North-Western State Medical University n. a. I.I. Mechnikov. Among them there were both new graduates and specialists with established practice who decided to get a new profession.

Traditionally every year we open four new groups in different cities of the country. This year we have first-year students in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Samara and Kazan. We are glad that more and more doctors want to connect their fortune with osteopathy and choose a high-quality education!

As for the postgraduate education, the tendency of recent years was especially noticeable here: seminars of Russian lecturers become more and more popular. The author's courses of seminars by Dmitry Mokhov and Igor Kutuzov about oscillatory techniques, the seminar by Yuliya Kuzmina and Yevgeniya Kuznetsova about osteopathic work with children of the first year of life were a great success. More and more seminars are held in our branches - in Moscow, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Samara.

Several large projects were completed in our institute’s publishing house. In 2015, we started a great work on the publication of the Notebooks by Francis Peyralade in Russian. In April the last part of this work dedicated to the possibilities of osteopathy in the correction of neurological problems, musculoskeletal disorders and postural balance was published. The book by Dmitry Mokhov "What is ostepathy and how it can help you to be healthy" was republished. It describes the philosophical concept of osteopathy, the essence and benefits of osteopathic treatment. Undoubtedly, many of those who have read this book were inspired and decided to continue their acquaintance with osteopathy.

For several years we have been holding informational webinars "Osteopathy as a path of a doctor" in order to acquaint our colleagues representing different fields of medicine with osteopathy and its possibilities. This year we considered the experience of our previous broadcasts and changed the format in order to make them even more interesting. This time the webinars were addressed to doctors of certain specialties – neurologists, pediatricians, dentists, doctors of sports medicine. Themes of the broadcasts were chosen by voting, so their relevance is undoubted! The next series of the informational webinars is planned for the spring 2018.

Summing up the results of the year, we should also mention the International Congress Osteopathy Open 2017. For the first time it was held not in St. Petersburg. This year Kazan became the capital of Russian osteopathy! The event turned out to be ambitious. The figures are impressive: more than 500 participants from 40 regions of Russia and 9 countries, 6 scientific symposiums, 15 workshops were held by well-known Russian and foreign lecturers! Undoubtedly, Osteopathy Open 2017 became the main scientific event of the year for all Russian osteopaths!

By tradition, our united osteopathic team met together to say good-bye to the outgoing year at the New Year Osteopathy Party. A jazz bar “48 chairs” was chosen as a place for this festive occasion. This is a wonderful place well-known to those who like jazz. As always the atmosphere was joyful and soulful. And we hope that the new year 2018 will also be so.
