On May 14th, an international osteopathic symposium «Les rencontres internationales de l’Ostéopathie» («The international meetings on osteopathy») took place in Paris. The symposium was organized by the French Register of Osteopaths on the occasion of its 40th anniversary.
The director of our institute, chief osteopathy specialist of the Russian Federation Ministry of Health Dmitry Mokhov was invited to take part in the event. He made a presentation on the achievements of Russian osteopathy, the path of its development as a medical specialty and the role of French osteopaths in this process.

During his presentation, he also spoke about the methodology of the 3-component approach to the diagnosis of somatic dysfunction developed by Russian specialists, which generated particular interest of the audience. The participants of the symposium appreciated the high level of osteopathic medicine in Russia and noted the prospects for cooperation between the countries.
Following the meeting, Dmitry Mokhov thanked his French colleagues for their contribution to the development of Russian osteopathy and expressed hope for holding joint events in the future: «I think we need more meetings like this one, where we can share our achievements and our thoughts, in order to develop together and enrich our experience».
